How much does SunRoof cost?

Roof is a cost-effective solution, cheaper than a regular roof plus PV panels. Each SunRoof roof is individually designed to meet the specific needs of our customers. Pricing is determined by several factors, including the size and shape of the roof, its energy generation capacity based on electricity requirements, the choice of roofing materials, and other components such as gutters. Our sales team will be happy to provide a cost estimate.
What services are included in the price?

SunRoof functions as a comprehensive solution provider! This means our customers benefit from an all-inclusive service from a single source, allowing them more time to relax while eagerly awaiting their new roof. There’s no need to juggle multiple companies—we take care of the roofing solution, scaffolding rental, procurement and transport of all materials, construction and installation, as well as electrical work and aftercare for you!

Our pricing includes a comprehensive roof, fully prepared for use, complete with all necessary sheet metal work, the inverter, and electrical installations. Moreover, it covers configuration, user training, and complete assembly support through our SunRoof Care service. Additionally, it includes AC/DC security installation, inverter installation, connection, commissioning of the installation, electrical design, and registration with the Distribution System Operator (DSO).

Safety

Does SunRoof technology come with a warranty?

Yes, it does. Our photovoltaic modules are covered by a 30-year warranty for linear performance with a minimum of 83 percent. There’s also a 5-year warranty for construction and installation work. You have the option to extend the warranty to 15 years with an annual comprehensive roof inspection by our Service Department. Additionally, you’ll benefit from warranties on components like inverters and membranes, in accordance with the manufacturers’ guidelines.
Is SunRoof photovoltaic roofing resistant to hail?

Absolutely. SunRoof technology originates from Sweden and has undergone rigorous testing in challenging Scandinavian conditions. Our photovoltaic modules are crafted using glass-glass technology, making them highly resilient to hail and other forms of damage. You can trust SunRoof’s durability to rival that of traditional ceramic tiles.
What fire protection features does SunRoof offer?

SunRoof prioritizes safety with advanced fire protection features. Each installation comes equipped with state-of-the-art Fire Safety systems designed to automatically cut off power in case of fire, preventing voltage at the optimizer level.

Moreover, SunRoof holds a prestigious BRoof (t1) certificate, signifying our commitment to fire safety. BRoof (t1) is a parameter that determines the non-proliferation of fire. This means that the roofs are tested and approved for use in residential buildings and public facilities. Coverings classified as BRoof (t1) guarantee complete fire safety and a high level of fire protection. Furthermore, the materials used in BRoof (t1) roofs meet strict quality requirements and comply with the latest fire safety regulations in building legislation. Tests have confirmed not only the high quality of our product but also its compliance with the highest industry standards.
Is the SunRoof system waterproof?

The SunRoof system ensures complete roof waterproofing. We have achieved this through three elements: frameless modules that allow us to install them similar to roof tiles, the utilization of a special module sealing system (strips and EPDM gaskets), and a roofing membrane that acts as a waterproof barrier.

What are the installation stages of a SunRoof roof?

When the roof truss construction is complete, we take over the installation process. It begins with laying the roofing membrane, followed by installing the active part (photovoltaic panels) and the inactive part, which doesn’t generate electricity. Additionally, we install windows, address chimneys, perform sheet metal work, and carry out other essential tasks to provide the investor with a roof ready for use.

What happens if one module malfunctions?

We provide 24/7 monitoring of our installations through our dedicated service department as part of the SunRoof Care service. In the event of a malfunction with a single module, we swiftly replace it without the need to replace the entire system. Our application enables us to accurately identify the faulty panel.
Should snow be removed from the roof during winter?

The SunRoof solar roof is maintenance-free. Microvoltage is continuously maintained within the modules, gently heating and melting the snow. Snow removal may only be necessary in the event of exceptionally heavy snowfall or prolonged periods of freezing temperatures combined with significant nighttime snowfall.
Is the SunRoof system suitable for any roof?

While SunRoof is installed on roofs with a slope of over 12 degrees, we also offer alternative solutions for customers with flat roofs, such as solar facades or modern solar carports (SunPorts). This ensures versatility in our offerings to meet diverse roofing needs.
What if my roof is really old?
What if I want to buy something with high energy consumption in the future, such as an electric car or a swimming pool? Can I up the size of my system in relation to my current electricity consumption?
I have my own “power plant”. Does that mean I can disconnect completely from my energy supplier?

This is theoretically possible, but the installation must include energy storage facilities in addition to the SunRoof roof. On sunny days, when the energy yield is high and exceeding your consumption, the excess energy will be stored. Later it will be used when the energy yield is less than consumption, e.g. on cloudy days.
