TOGETAIR 2020 Climate Summit: SunRoof believes in the future of solar power and offers workplaces to miners affected by the energy transformation

Lech Kaniuk, CEO at SunRoof, offered workplaces to miners and other employees from the mines that will be closed. A total of 10,000 people will be hired in the renewable energy sector. This is SunRoof’s solution for boosting the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

During the TOGETAIR 2020 Climate Summit, politicians, businessmen and representatives of institutions discussed the actions needed to set the direction for ecological development. However, there are still some doubts about the European Commission’s plans to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, how to combine business interests and environmental protection, and the possibility of economical and ecological solutions going hand in hand.
It is particularly important to develop solutions to mitigate the effects of moving away from fossil fuels, and to meet the challenges that the energy sector will have to face.
During TOGETAIR 2020, Lech Kaniuk offered workplaces for miners and other employees from the mines that will be closed. Emphasising his respect and their commitment to work, he invited them to join forces in improving the climate and creating innovative solar roofs together.

People affected by the energy transformation, or who do not see themselves working in the mine anymore, will be able work for SunRoof. The growth dynamics in the industry is very high. We estimate that we can build 3,000 solar roofs per month over the next 5 years, a plan which requires 10,000 employees to succeed.

– said Lech Kaniuk.

The range of available positions will be very wide – from installation and assembly work to more skilled jobs in the areas of solar roof design, logistics and development. This is a great opportunity to change career fields and get professional training in technology, one which will soon become the primary source of energy in the world.
SunRoof has designed and developed a 2-in-1 solar roof technology which replaces traditional roofs and generates electricity without installing photovoltaic panels on them, ensuring a great finish. At the same time, this roofing system has the smallest carbon footprint in the world.
SunRoof entered the Polish market in 2019, and has opened an R&D centre in Łódź while the branch in Gdańsk is responsible for logistics. We work closely with experts in Sweden, where the company originated and where its headquarters – SunRoof International Holding – is located. Currently, the company is further expanding into Norway and Spain.
