The first house in Poland with a completely solar roof has recently been completed, making it the most ecological roof in the country

As a 2-in-1 solution, the SunRoof replaces a traditional roof and generates energy without the need for any additional equipment. This revolutionary approach to ecological architecture was originally introduced by experienced entrepreneur and innovation expert, Lech Kaniuk. With more than 50 installations in Sweden, this ground-breaking technology now debuts in Poland.

This first completely solar roof in Poland can be found in Łódź. It does not have any separate panels attached to completely ruin the aesthetic.  SunRoof looks like a modern, elegantly tiled roof. It covers the entire roof, even one as complicated and multi-hipped as that used for the first installation in Poland. It is also important to note that SunRoof has the lowest carbon footprint on the market, and is the most cost-effective ecological solution for your home.

Any house design should consider the long term, and invest in the latest technologies. In designing a house, it is a good idea to plan for the future and incorporate the latest technologies, such as electric heating, charging an electric car for free, as well as incorporating more smart solutions. The energy generated by SunRoof is enough to cover all your needs. It can help you to transition to renewable energy sources,

says Lech Kaniuk, CEO of SunRoof.

The Łódź example gives you a good idea of how architecture and economic construction will look in the future.

The 218 m2 solar roof generates 19,000 kWh of ecological energy, every year. This dwarfs traditional photovoltaic modules, which only cover sections of a roof. The annual savings are estimated at up to 15,000 zlotys. It is also worth noting that SunRoof is cheaper to install than a traditional roof based on PV panels,

says Martyn Szczepanowski, Head of CEE at SunRoof, responsible for the development of the Polish branch of the company.

We guarantee at least 90% efficiency for no less than 30 years, which means that SunRoof can effectively fund the majority of your other house-related expenses. This makes it the most economical and eco-friendly solution on the market,

Szczepanowski adds.

SunRoof – the most ecological roof

It is not only good for your wallet, but the environment as well. The roof installed in Łódź generates 8,500 kg less CO2 per year and is completely biodegradable. It is certain to be a hit with anyone who prefers renewable energy sources or who is conscious of climate change. Every new SunRoof brings us one step closer to the completion of the European Green Deal programme and its goals of being climate-neutral with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

The company responsible for the Łódź building has so far only showed off its solar roof. After the finishing work is complete, the house will be unveiled for all to see.

SunRoof overtakes Tesla’s Solar Roof

Even though it had to wait for Elon Musk to present his solar tiles before the photovoltaic revolution began to gain publicity, Lech Kaniuk’s company had actually installed its first solar roofs 3 years earlier, in 2013. The company uses proven technologies (as confirmed by RISE), has more than 50 successful installations under its belt, several ongoing projects in partnership with large-scale developers and continues to rapidly expand in new foreign markets.

The designs can undoubtedly compete with Tesla’s when it comes to aesthetics, but their efficiency leaves Musk’s solutions in the dust. The mono crystalline cells used in the SunRoof tiles are much more effective than the photovoltaic foil used in Tesla’s Solar Roof solution. This also make Lech Kabuki’s roofs more ecological, which is a very important aspect for SunRoof clients.

Roofs designed in Poland

The Scandinavian technology has been successfully implemented in Poland, and is seeing further development here. In 2019, SunRoof opened its R&D centre in Łódź, where experts work on new architectural innovations for the future together with SunRoof International Holding in Sweden, a country known for its responsible approach to environmental protection and the high ecological awareness of its citizens. The company’s logistics and design centre is located in Gdańsk.

SunRoof is not only a great solution for individual houses. 2-in-1 solar roofs are perfect for renovation projects and modern housing community planning, in line with ecological trends and the principles of the sharing economy.
